A lo largo de su trayectoria ha recibido numerosas distinciones, como el Premio Novela del Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Lista de Honor de IBBY y becas de la Internationale Jugendbibliotek (Munich, Alemania), adem\u00e1s del V Premio Iberoamericano SM de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil en 2009.
